We lost this little guy at six days old

Lula was so attentive to him from the get go. much more so to him than all of the other pups put together. Any peep from him and she was licking and nesting with him. It was kind of the opposite of what I have seen Bitches do with a pup they know have a problem. Usually they push them aside. She over nurtured him. This is how she put a bite in his back at three days old. She was carrying him around the whelping box. I guess what is meant to be is meant to be.

Still did not make the pain go away as he faded in my lap .

I had him at the vet that AM and he told me that he could not see anything wrong and to just keep him warm, fed and stimulated and hope for the best.

The vet did look at him after his passing and found nothing wrong. The tear on his back was only superficial. No infection or anything more substantial under the surface. Lungs, heart, belly etc all seemed normal........??????

I guess we will never know what Lula sensed from day one.
